1 week review..XD

One week since my last post eh.. Thought of updating but it is either I was lazy or I got no time..Sounds busy?? Yeah, I was quite packed for the week.. The life of a business student?? Nope..it is not..The life of a business student will start this week, when presentations, assignments instructions come.. That was a life, of someone active?? Haha..

Well, basically my week was filled with meetings and outings. Meetings for the World Heritage Site event, where I am the Chief Programmer for the event. My source of my 5 points. If not, I would not have a room to stay by the end of this semester. The event is like 2 more weeks away and yeah, the nearer it is, the busy we are.. Then, I had meeting for FOC 2012. For those who does not know what is FOC, FOC=Freshman Orientation Camp, not Free of Charge..Again, I'm one of the Chief Programmer of the camp.. There are other small small meetings like Rotaract, Merdeka Night and etc.. Trying not to be a nerd I suppose?? Sometimes all these could be a burden, but sometimes it is something that I can look forward to besides study study and study..

Last saturday, I went for "garang Guni" session..I dunno why they named it "Garang Guni"..But, it is a famous and known event among Singaporeans that it is a recycling event. So, we Rotaract members went to Lakeside residential area to get all the recyclable items to sell to the Garang Guni man, and all the profits will go to the Orphans in Vietnam..Meaningful event indeed. Though it was tiring, but it is just very satisfying when you know you are blessing others. We had fun too throughout the event. And most importantly, I have come up with a few conclusions after going from house to house, from 9.30am to 4pm.

1)Some of the dogs in Singapore are just pathetic, and I think they are sad..No place to run..
2)The condition of a house with a few guys, especially PRCs is just terrible.
3)People like to lock themselves in the house, gloomy and scary condition..or it is just that area??
4)The richer ones will be staying at a higher floor, and the poorer ones will be staying at lower floors.

Some of my thoughts. I also came to a very awkward situation where this PRC man, in his fifties, asked us whether do we collect man? Think you see wrongly?? yeah...he asked us whether we collect man?? he say his son does not want him...and his face is no joke, he looks sad and down.. I also dunno how to help him, just gave him a smile and went off..Awkward!!

On the same day, went with the Heritage Club to Chinatown. Chinatown was filled with people, and I sensed the homely feel. Because, the situation just looks like being in Pasar Malam..haha..It was fun because of the people that were with me, even though the food sucks!! and they call it 美食街。Tsk tsk...

Yesterday night I attended the Speak, Dress & Impress workshop organised by the Rotaract Professional Development Division. Seriously, it is an insightful workshop. The speaker was Willi Ching. The 3 hours workshop was seriously interesting. Well, was shocked that guys are asked to apply concealor or foundation.. Haha.. next thing I should do, is shopping~!! For a few interview suits.. XD

Speaking of interview, I got a call from Loyal Reliance Pte Ltd. They are offering a part time job for me, and I am meeting them in 2 more hours. For your information, Loyal Reliance Pte Ltd is a business consultancy firm where they do business advisory, business alliance and also management. Lets see what am I going to get from there..

Oh yeah, few more days to Chinese New Year and I cannot wait for it~!!!

Semester 2

Oh, I have not announce the badminton results. So, our team stopped marching at the quarter finals. We lost by 2-3 to Hall 4, sokwai's hall. Well, she does not care anyway. Haha. Well, good experience and I guess we met our target.

School started 2 days ago. Having 16AUs for this semester. Sounds too little?? No, it doesnt. Assignments are coming and you will see me crying for help in a few weeks time.. I also got a job as a lecture recording crew. It requires you to handle a few lectures at the same time, getting the movements of the lecturers in a command centre. The pay also not that bad, $9 per hour..

Recently, everyone is changing class, adding course and so on..and because of that, I get to be classmate with Sok Wai again in Organisational Behaviour seminar..Dunno good thing or bad thing leh?? haha... I know nobody in my class this semester. It is a no good sign especially for marketing but then, the university planned my timetable in such a way that i have to rearrange everything to get back the classmates I have last semester..Disadvantages of foreigners, and this is just the beginning.

Week 1 is not that busy because tutorials have not started but have been busy with event meetings and so on. Sien.

Pushing limits, to greater heights

These few days have been exhausting. Waking up in the morning at 7am, preparing for badminton match which starts at 9am. Playing 2 matches a day, one starts at 9am and the other starts at 2pm.. By the time everything ends, it is just too tiring..Just imaginable playing 2 matches in a day for 2 days consecutively.

After our last match which we lost to Hall 4, I feel so dead..My legs have no energy. Walking from NIE Badminton Court to HSS building adds to the stress. Not enough of the tiredness. I went out to meet with my ex-classmates for a dinner.

At first, I have the thought of ffk them..After a few thoughts, it was our first ever outing and I cannot be that bad. So I went there, feeling awful cause of the headache and the lethargy.. Luckily, I went. It was fun...haha.. but sadly, we played till we forgot time and I missed the last bus back to NTU.

As of today, woke up, feeling busy..walked to Hall 6, grab books, went to Sokwai's room and went to print notes. Gosh, printing this sem notes meaning the sem is starting and it looks scary to me after reading some of the course outline.. Attended my Chief Programmer meeting and it took 4 hours..4 hours meeting..but, it was all good..everyone has crazy and funny ideas pouring out on the table, which is good..haha..

Pushing my limits this semester. =)

Hi 2012, please treat me good.

My first post of the year. Wonder why so late only I have my first post? Not that I am busy though, its just that I have nothing interesting to write about. Pathetic huh?

I have been down with sore throat at the beginning of the year.. Sad beginning? No worries, it will be better in the quarter, middle and the end!! haha..stay optimistic..
Have only been going for badminton, Face-booking, watching movies, chatting while waiting for the semester to start. I am pumped up for semester 2...oh yeah!!!

Finally got my Hall T-shirt and tomorrow is my first badminton competition..Our opponent is Hall 16..haha..Finger crossed.. No. 80...Huat ah...XD

Well, new year resolution? Not many.. Just one. Live my year as though it is my only last year on Earth..Live happily, with no regrets and to do my best in everything that comes.

Bye Bye 2011, Welcome 2012

Year 2011 has been magnificent for me. It has been a life changing year..From the start of the year, I was jobless, useless, and worthless...haha... Then, I got a job which changed my life. A job where I met different people, know a few good friends, and yes, the experience was awesome.. It then continued with the release of STPM results..Thank God for the awesome results!! It was beyond my expectation but try not to compare..

Then the year continued with Scholarship application, but sadly was not good enough to secure one..But no worries to that, maybe in the future, I will be the one giving our scholarship...Who knows right?? =D

Then, it came the point where everyone is leaving to chase after their dreams.. It was sad to leaving the very good friends you have, but it was also exciting that it was the time where you have grown more MATURED, fighting for your dreams, preparing yourself for the future..

In the beginning, everything is so stranger..the education system, the language, and etc were not the same at all..It takes time to adapt and after a semester, it is not that bad afterall but I cannot say it is very good because, yes, I have a good time here, knowing lots of friends, getting to play sports, going around, hanging out in hall but then, my GPA was not as good.. The not good meaning I did not meet my expectation..

A trip around Singapore during the festive seasons was really awesome..especially Christmas and New Year's Eve.. It was superb!!

Well, these are some, not all, but some of the happenings of Year 2011. It was not that bad, but I still wish 2012 will be much more greater!! *I'm greedy* LOL.. Happy New Year People~~!!!!!

A trip around the Lion City

Like the title has mentioned, I have been going around Singapore and this was the reason why I came back earlier than the others. Not like I wanted it, but brother and grandma wanted to visit, so have to accompany them.It was so fun till I fall sick at the last day of the trip. (It will be as fun if I were in Ipoh) My grandma and bro stayed for 6 days in Singapore and thanks to my relative, I have known many wonderful places. I cant wait to explore these places again with my friends.

Since it is almost the end of the year, and our timing was so good that we reached a day before Christmas Eve. So, the first place to go will be Orchard Road. The streets, malls were decorated with colourful lights, and wonderful decorations. There were so many people on the street. Although it did rain awhile that night, but it did not wash away the Christmas spirit. When it is almost 12am, people all around took up the snow spray and start to spray at each other or to the air, even strangers!! Everyone is wishing one another Merry Christmas, be it friends or strangers..You really felt the warmth..haha.. This also marks the moment Singapore's street is dirty..

We continue to places such as Esplanade, Promenade, Chinatown the next day.. The walking was super duper tiring..8 hours straight..This was crazy but then, it is worth it.. The view was awesome..At least now I know where to go next time when my friends wan to visit.

A trip to Marina Bay Sands at night was awesome too..A night view of the Singapore's "Wall's Street" is just amazing. It has the feel of Hong Kong but I bet Hong Kong's one is way more nicer.. Around that area, they have a water lightshow which opens to the public and most importantly, it is free!! Everyday they have this show, and it is eye-opening..and it was the night that I got sick too..

Singapore is just a small island, going anywhere by car is just fast. Many would also think that Singapore do not have high hills, because what they have is just tall buildings.. I have found a few high hills around and been to one of it. Spectacular view from the top which spread across Sentosa and also the town area. Singapore still have places that are very near to the mother nature. =)

Singapore's mascot is the Merlion.. Merlion is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. There are a total 4 Merlion in Singapore and they are one big family. People often say if you didnt get to see these four Merlion, you have not been to Singapore. So, go search for the Merlions. The father is located in Sentosa.. haha

Now, I'm back to NTU and it is time to settle down.. I hate this feeling of having to adapt again to this life because I have been home for too long..Everything looks a bit strange to me.

3 Weeks Break @ Ipoh

I have not been updating this blog for quite sometime..SO, erm sorry about it. I was kinda busy spending time with my loved ones back in Ipoh, and now, I am back to the NTU.. Maybe I will tell you about the 3 weeks holiday break in Ipoh in short.

So, I reached Ipoh on my birthday, knowingly there wont be many friends around because it is not the right time for holiday according to the public universities. Screw them, so initially, I just hang out with Kaylynn and Chee Khoon. Spending more of my time at home slacking I suppose? Nah, not slacking..Everyday is fun..Playing cards, watching movie, Monopoly, badminton, having a trip to KL with siblings and family is something I do not think I can do it much often sooner or later..

Well, a few meet ups with my ex-boss and colleagues, having fun at Overtime, helping them out to search for desktops and drinking chinese tea, its just give me the feel of belonging.. No doubt they treat me very good..thats why I dont mind helping eventhough I am no longer his employee..Somehow,this has increased my expectation of my colleagues and boss in the future?? haha..

The best part of the holiday is that I get to meet up with some very very important friends, and they really have been part of my life. Without them, I do not know what will my life be (Exaggerating...maybe better?? LOL). Yi Wen and Ph'ng managed to be back on Tuesday night right after yiwen's class. And we are the ones that they go to once they reach Ipoh..not to their family..wah, its so touching!! haha..

The second day, Ipoh Food Tour Trip by the three of us.. Ph'ng be the driver and drove us around. Knowing Ipoh has plenty of good food, it is such a blessing. Argh, if Malaysia's economy, and education were to be at a greater level, I do not think many of us would leave because Malaysia is such a beautiful country and Ipoh too, a calming, slow state where you do see people rushing their heads off.. Okay, back to food.. We went to almost all the famous shops to eat, but some gave us disappointment cause they were not opened. And, we met some some people along the trip..Edwin, Aunty Lay Chin, Lip Hyean, and also Yi Wei.. it was a wonderful wonderful trip!! Cant wait for our next trip!!

Then, it was like 2 days before going back to Singapore. It was so sad because everyone is coming back at this period and I am going back..What a bad bad timing it was. Just cant help it to be emo, but somehow, we went for YumChar session that I have been missed alot in NTU.. To quote Yiwen, "Get a life!! =)" Yumchar session at the same place, with the same people for 2 days consecutively~~Imagine that?? We have so much to talk on..haha..

Oh ya, results was out on the 22nd.Hmm, my results ah, I think it is average..I hope it is in the average area.. I was wishing for a 4 in front but I am 0.03 away from it. The fact that many of my friends are doing better are kinda demoralising actually but sometimes you just cant help to compare a bit. Knowingly comparing will make things worst, but still we do compare because in such world, it is just so competitive. Now, we know our standard and level, I just hope to maintain at a near 4 area..

My 3 months of holiday break wasnt really fruitful in academic sense or in the area of self-improving..But, it was really fruitful in bonding with friends and family.. But, I'm very satisfied with it because I think I am still not used to it. Call me sentimental, but really, now I am just 2 days in Singapore and I am starting to miss everyone back there. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
